Coal Point, NSW, AU. Southerly 12-20

Stingray, Ghost whisperer and 5.5m.

GPS test 3 on my head and Garmin on Wrist.

My helmet with Motion, M8Logger and GW60 - It was surprising how uncomfortable it was with this small amount of extra weight.

5-19kts S-SSE Coal Point, NSW, AU

 Sailed + rig changes - 12-3.15pm

7.5m Turbo- Windtech 64 ( 112ltres) - 35cm tectonic weed demon then 32 WT weedy - 2 runs

 then 7m Turbo- WT 57 ( 90ltres) - 28cms WT weedy

Rigged the big kit as it was patchy but on the first run the chop was scarily big for that combo and I was worried about getting launched.

Came in to rig down to the 7m etc but it had died to mainly 10kts so I put a smaller fin in the big board , gave full tailflex and put the mastfoot forward. One run and still a handful in the chop although the sail was ok.

Back in and rerigged the smaller combo. much better! I was underpowered a lot but it was great in the stronger stuff and more manageable in the big chop. I prefer to be a bit underpowered but comfy in the strong stuff so I can look forward to the wind rather than dread the gusts..

Still patchy but I got a few nice runs. It was flatter between Coal and Fishing point and I was wanting more to try for a better top speed. I think I can uphaul the 7m and I can dredge back in so that's not a bad option for lumpy patchy conditions.

I called it a day when my arms started to give in.

There was a houseboat making me a bit nervous motoring in circles and all over the place. I don't know whether they were just bored or drunk but I was a bit worried in case they weren't keeping a lookout. Luckily they buggered off towards Pulbah later.

Early on I had my hands full with the big kit. When I managed to take a quick look around I noticed a large ferry heading towards me 200m below . Luckily he had his wits about him and was just treading water waiting for me to get by.

Just Andrew & I.Best sail Ive had for quite a while. Cool

I had a nasty fall in the carpark as I derigged. I was trying to walk the big kit backwards and up the hill. The clew wasn't attached to the boom ( I needed the applecore for the 7m) so the rig was moving around. I tripped over my own feet and went from upright to horizontal landing on the back of my head..Lucky it was grass! A guy who saw it rushed over to see how I was.

I think Ill have a headache tomorrow.
