5- 15kts few puffs more ESE-SSE Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU  level 0.22

 Sailed 12 - 2.30 with a kit change

7.5 Turbo- RS4 ( 112ltres) - 24cm FF

then 7mOD- RS2 ( 90ltres) - 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24)

Procrastinated and got there too late .Byron got the best of it. It had just dropped off and he was slogging in as I arrived at Brandon. A quick talk to Bruce who had come to check it out . He decided to give it a miss and went home . I headed  to Buff.

I think Pete dropped in for a look later but gave it a miss.

I haven't used my slalom gear since Lake George and the board bag zip was crusted up with salt and impossible to open. Some WD40 and pliers combined with Byron's muscles managed to open it. Thanks Byron! ( I would have had to go home otherwise).

He left and I sailed by myself. It looked pretty light and patchy but I was desperate as I haven't planed in weeks! Undecided

I didn't go much into the flats as the FF was too fat, a bit deep  and I wasn't powered enough to get through the weed.

The weed is thick . I was sailing in waist deep water and there were weedbergs and thick stuff. More wind with a smaller fin and you'd be able to cut through it. I suspect it would have been a bit shallow right to the east.

The best wind was over in the middle near towards the bridge and there was hardly any 'chop' . The largest was 10-15cms .

I had some fun runs across the chop . First time in ages  I could just hook in and bear off onto the plane without bouncing the board.. Bliss! Tongue out

Took me a while to adapt to the shorter board. I kept submarining the nose by standing too far forward slogging and uphauling. The WT is easier and better at slogging.

Got the 2 sec on the big kit. Had a few planing bits in the flats but too much drag through the weed so it was better below it. Started to get pretty powered with the big kit so although I only had a short window before I had to go I rigged down.

I didn't score any decent gusts in the weed only 22kts on this.. No gybes now I was buggered..Frown

Fun but cripes I'm unfit. Despite pushing myself to keep fit cycling , bushwalking and kayaking , sailing is the only thing that really pushes me. I only had a 130bpm average for this session but I'm still wiped out today..
