Peel Inlet, WA, AU CA66 koncept 6.2 fangy 21s water level was good but Strop, Woody and Lunny used up all the wind as he was getting packed up as we arrived. Sailed with Reg and Decrepit. I used a big board as the wind was dropping and could have used a much larger sail as the gusts weren’t all that strong by 2-3:30 pm when I got there. The sun even came out a couple of times but it was still quite cool. OK for a winter sail.

well that was fun, plenty of Liptons flat water, virtually all the way from launch to past the end of Ward Pt. Getting wind all the way was the problem.

Strop said they were getting 25kt gusts, but there were 15kt lulls, so went with the 55cm board and 5.7 koncept. started off with the 23cm@40/60. But that picked up unshakeable weed at low speed in the shallows, so changed to the 20cm@55. Still didn't make any full planning gybes, couldn't find wind starting far enough out to gybe in water deep enough to not bottom out.

Yep, tide was really nice, the negative storm surge happened earlier that I anticipated, should have got out before lunch when the wind was stronger. I didn't see any of Strop's 25kt gusts, lucky to get to 20.

The weed is showing signs it maybe OK later on. There was one very small patch of smooth where liptons bay joins Ward Pt, and through most of the bay there's some new weed growth.

Only Waricle and Reg out with me, just enough company not to get lonely

First post from my newly configured DIY3 @10 hz. No change electrically, (except for a bigger battery) but it's now longer and slimmer to fit better on my helmet.

here's the coloured lines
