Melville Beach, WA, AU  Went out about 1:30, wind was solid so rigged 6.5 but was underpowered and wind dropped off so yet again rigged 7.8.   Melville delivered its finest gusty, shifty, holey wind and I didn't really manage one run on the plane despite being well over powered in the gusts. The sun was out with only one other out so was pleasant enough.  Stretched the definition of an hour as long as I dared and came in just after Anita went out.   She seemed to score some better wind.  Reg turned up but wasn't inspired to go out.  120 Tabou Rocket, 7.8 Severne Overdrive, 33TWS

Melville Beach, WA, AU iS111, 6.2K, 40CF

It was disappointing to have a day off and wind, and not to be able to go windsurfing because of lockdown, and even more frustrating when the sun came out. Wind and sunshine are such a rare combo in winter! Then I thought to look at a map, and to my delight I found that I did in fact live within 5 km of Lucky Bay (as the seagull flies). Yippee! So it was windsurfing for my one hour of permitted exercise. A wonderfully socially distanced sport.

Flex was re rigging when I arrived, changing up. The wind was very gusty, but the gusts looked strong, so I rigged the 5.4 with the big board for the lulls, but then the wind dropped off a notch so I went withthe 6.2. That was the right choice - planing most of the time, gybable and never overpowered. A fun little session.

Looks glorious Anita.

I'm 4 kays from the river, circa Maylands, maybe I need to explore some new aquatic pastures?
