Benny McCarthy (14442km): Port Douglas, QLD, AU Made the trek to Latte land where the "rich & famous" frolic in hope for some decent wind as the forecast suggested... Looked promising on the drive with white caps a plenty off Ellis Beach... Arrived at 4 Mile Beach just after midday and gave the local lads Ed & Andrew a quick report- strangely only about 12kn with a possibility of building! Rigged the big gear again and weaved through the multiple kites on the beach (mostly beginners by the looks & some foiling). Hit the water and got going straight away, so glass was still half full. Andrew joined not long after. Had a few runs staying on the plane- one where a dolphin joined me, which was really nice, so the glass was still half full, albeit borderline as it was starting to become hard work... Ed then joined and managed to get one run out & back before the clouds hung low & slow skunking us all. Ended up in a long dredge back into shore= "Game Over"... Andrew said he wanted his money back from the Weatherman and we all agreed... Aaghhh well, was good to catch up with the lads! + Lots more days left in the week!! Used the Jag 125, KA 8.7, Venom 48 "Long May our Big Jibs Draw!"
