had to writr these results in as upload to KA72 wouldn't go into GPSTC. Not a bad arvo. Mike Pete and Matty rigged for strong breeze that died. I was late so rigged 6/7 and was going well. The others went in as too light but as soon as the last went to shore it kicked in full bore and had a good half hour or so. might not have been out for an hour.

12-22kts patches 25kts plus WNW Squids Bellmont Bay  NSW, AU

High tide c 9.15am

7m Turbo - Windtech57 ( 90ltres) - 28cm WT weedy

Cold 13 degrees and the water is getting icey.

Early short session. I thought I'd get there  and avoid most of the kites.

3 kites plus me but  only one kiter stayed out and it was just me doing bearaways and him sailing.

I was hoping to sail in the area near Marks Point but the wind wasn't getting in there. Nice to be able to hold a larger sail. If I was out in the middle I would have had the 5m up and be wallowing in the lulls..Undecided

I took the speed gear down but it was too lumpy and not consistent enough. The 70ltre may have been ok in the chop but the wind wasn't consistently strong enough.

Chop ranged from 1ft down to 6inch rollers in the flat areas. Almost got 30kts..29.91kts on the dial..May have cracked it with the iso 80 if I'd tried although the WT's weigh more which I think would help me in choppier conditions.

Lots of fun! Tongue out The last run I scored some really strong stuff and the board got airborne like a hovercraft so I decided to call it quits while I was still in one piece.. It turned out to just be a gust but I was cold and  plenty of kiters were hitting the water so I pulled the pin.

I miss my planing gybes .  I'm getting worse. I'm getting bad habits doing survival gybes in the chop..Cry

I'd rather have a session with some nice planing gybes rather than speed runs..A refresher course at Budgy would be nice but that doesn't look like it will be happening this season. Undecided

Squids- LM 2 sec PB + board LM PB Smile I'm happy with that speed in the conditions with the big sail.

Marks Point weather station read 15-32kts WNW when I was out..It's handy to have that as a reference to help with rigging as it's hard to tell from the shore.

A few happy snaps after I finished. They are pretty typical but it did get stronger than this..

Extra tame ducks..the caravan park residents have them well trained..lol's

There is a weather station at Mark's Point.  I was disappointed the 2 days I was there as the area between the caravan park and Mark's Point looks really good especially for gybes but the wind wasn't getting in there. It seems to go up over the caravan park. It was also a kitefree area..Tongue out

It might be better in a NW. I might find out this Wednesday if it blows.
