Andrew Haigh (48951km): Coal Point, NSW, AU Stingray, Whisperer and 5.8 SW 10-12 kts. A truly miserable cold wet and uninviting day. A certain person free from lockdown travel restrictions was keen to sail. I thought it wouldn't be right for her to sail peacefully around by herself so I took on the task of constantly buzzing passed on the foil.

sboardcrazy (24381km): Patchy 5- 13kts SW- WSW 13 degrees with light rain at times Coal Point, NSW, AU 7.5m Turbo- Windtech 64 ( 112ltres) - 35cm Tectonics weed demon. Got there at 9.30 , caught up with some long overdue socialising and got on the water c 12. Well it was 13 degrees raining and the wind was pretty iffy but after being locked away from sailing for 9 weeks who was complaining? I've spent most days during the lockdown practising dryland gybe technique . Id' started with the 5.7m gator and worked up to the heavier 7m turbo on the 90ltre and had it down pretty slick.. I was interested to see if I could get it to work on the water. I was hoping for the 7m - 90ltre combo rather than the big kit but i suppose if I can get it together with the heavy gear it should be easy with smaller gear??? I usually do flare gybes especially if its dodgy and rarely fall in with the big kit.. Back to beginnersville.. On the plus side the 2 I got although subplaning felt very slick and well balanced.. Maybe by the end of summer I might have my act together.. The cold weather meant I only saw one boat so that was nice..I've been working hard to keep fit but I've lost all my upper body strength and muscle and was worried about handling the big kit. I survived but it was hard work ( especially uphauling regularly ugh..). Lucky the wind was patchy as I don't think I'm up to a powered session with the big kit yet. I only got planing occasionally but I got plenty of chances to try my new getting going technique which worked well although often I'd get planing and then run out of wind.. Oh well at least I had lots of tries.. Of course the best wind of the day came in after I'd unrigged.. Andrew was flying around all over the place.. When I went out.. It got a little bit better at times.. Nowhere near as good as this says ( I chose Norah as it was more indicative of what we got).
