Queens Beach - a brief session until the wind turned off, thanks to Ian who kindly leant me a Cheetah to try, such an  easy sail to use :)

Bit disappointing that the wind never fully came in. Only got to about 22 knots SSE. Direction changed to SE later on which made it too broad to go down the bank.

Quite a few others out.

The Trials of the Sea. More Southerly squall chasing on a day that was supposed to be 30kts. Went back out very late for some good runs and then the wind switched off. Fell in trying to gybe and couldn't waterstart. Drifted for 30 mins unable to get up and watching the stars come out. Eventually got a tiny gust and waterstarted and managed to dredge back to the shore. Couldn't get south of the groyne so washed up in the rocks at the bottom of the cliffs at about 7.40pm. Craig, Stephen and Jackson were there to help me. The Coast Guard and Water Police were stood down, but some CG reps spoke to me to make sure all was OK. In the 30 mins I had been stuck out there I had only drifted 300m. It would have taken another 2hrs to drift into the beach. "Just one last run!"

Cheetah 6.5, Cross 94.
