Round one for the day. Was nuking all night and into the morning, and settled to a steady 20-25+ by the time we were starting the fun race. Rigged 5.7m and 53 speed to start with- thought I'd check out the bay further north in case it was a magic speed spot before the race started, so did a downwinder but it wasn't windy enough for speed. Tacked a squillion times to make it back to the rigging area, quick board swap to the slalom 57, and more tackathon up to the start line. Buggered when I got there as the start was under way. NM was on the first leg- felt faster but it was rough as guts. Fell off on the last mark so ended up second. oops. Went back out to try to do chop speed runs. Wind had picked up but I couldn't find any flattish patches of water. Was all washing machine so quit before I crashed! Drove a few hours back to perth. It was windy so hit Melville for round 2 for the day. Did the switch and fade as I was rigging, leaving very short gusts that ran out into nothing, but it was still a nice stretch out... buggered now. 7m 68cm wsp33.
