Another nice dayin the Gloden Lake. Started with 20-25 but as we watched there were gusts in to high 20's. Jamie was already out but Andy and I were saving ourselves for the stronger wind forecast later.
The sky cleared a bit and it seemd to get more consisten mid to high 20's so I rigged the 5.2m and took the CA40 speed board. I was not sure if it was the best choice at first as I was struggling to beat 36 knots on the first few runs, but soon I was getting consisted 38 x 2 secs.
I decided to have a look around the lake and tried between the islands (nice but no faster) a then went up to the Packem Point end and met up with PD. Gustier up there, but there is still some nice flat water (but shallow) on both sides. It's harder to jusge where the water is not too shallow in the North side, but I didnt run aground wih the 16cm fin.
I got my best couple of 2 sec runs up there and best NM. Stopped to have chat with Tricky at the 5 Mile and then 3 huge downwind reaches back to the Spit which were a RUSH!
Thanks to Andy for waiting for me and leading the drive out in case I got stuck on the sand hill. Much appreciated! I got a good runup though, and just made it over.
