Foil Slalom 81 | FoilGlide 6.0m | GTR Evo 650/255

First time out on the new foil board and new smaller foil.  Had been using an 850 front / 330 back wing combo on the iSonic slalom board up until now, so quite a bit smaller foil with the 650 and 255 and a much more compact board at 210cm long.  Felt very different and not really enough wind for a good comparison as I was dogging for a lot of the session.  When it was up and going though, eveything did feel good.

Foostraps felt to be in the right position (centre for front and back) and the mast track seemed good also in the centre position.  I didn't use the back footstrap at all with the iSonic, but felt like I had to be in the back strap with new board, otherwise my foot would literally be placed on top of it.  The smaller wings felt like they would go pretty quick, but the board also felt like it would round up or down a lot quicker, making me a bit more wary first time out.

All in all, the gear felt like it needed quite a bit more wind to get going, but once up and going, felt OK.  It will take me a while to get used to having the back foot in the strap, as I used to move my back foot around a lot for fine tuning but now I feel like i'm going to have to steer the board more with foot pressure, rather than movement!

Will be keen to try the old foil in the new board and probably the new foil in the old board at some stage!  Definitely keeping the larger foil for the light wind days.  Might have been better with the 7.0m today to get going a kittle easier, but the 6.0m would have been fine on the old kit.
