Flex (15724km):
739 days ago Coodanup, WA, AU. Since I was skunked yesterday at Melville wasn't in the mood for more of its antics so made the marginal call to head to Coodanup. Arrived same time as Windxtasy who reported it was 8 knots...enough so rigged and headed out. Got going straight away and got some nice long runs in to Boundry island. A bit of a lull then some more nice wind and a few more nice long runs then a longer lull...was Cinderella time some called it but on rigging down wind picked up again and last I saw of Windxtasy was fanging somewhere up near Boundry island. Was very pleasant in the sun, could have done with a few more knots though...120 Tabou Rocket, 8.6 Severne Turbo M4, FF22

Arrived at Coodanup with SSW wind reading 8 Kn. Flex says "that's plenty of wind", which may be the case if you have an 8.6m sail, but I struggled with my 7 and 24 fin, which kept scraping the bottom. I did get the gust of the day, I think, just after Flex left the water, but it was only teasing and stopped after he had left. I could have sailed all the way to Boundary Island but was afraid the wind would cur out again and maroon me up there. The wind was very shifty and gusty (almost like Melville) but more pleasant. SSW - SSE
I have never seen so many fish jumping out of the water. It reminded me of the song "Summertime" "the fish are jumping and the cotton is high..." They were everywhere. No matter where you looked you could see 3 splashes in your field of view at any time. Heaps of small rays too.
Lovely sunshine, and warm. Still 1mm wettie weather. A top 10 Fangy day? Nah, but pleasant never the less - and no sign of the fangster.
