Lake George, SA, AU. 20-25kt SE ?. Last week of holiday with no chance of getting Feb/Mar off (as usual). With forecast very sketchy (the synoptic chart looking like a dog's dinner), I went down for 2 days. I wanted 30kt winds, but oh well.

After trying to find fordy007's (Pitcrew) keys for an hour ("It was.. in your pants ?" <laughs manic> Tongue out), the wind came in. Rigged the Falcon 107, KArace 6.3, and Tribal 29 speedweed. After 10km I was getting pulled over the bars (+20kt winds I'm guessing). The wind was really hammering. I did a 31 first run.

I then changed down to 92 Patrick Slalom, 5.5 KArace and tribal 26 speedweed. Fully lite on this kit, but in control. However wind died a bit and my bare aways were conking out. I should have kept the 6.3, but oh well. It's all learning.

Daishy suggested going down stairs to the spit and saying hello to Jimbob and Andy, but I said what is wind going to do now ?. Not worth getting rescued ! Smile

My GW60 packed in about 96km. I did over 100km sailing with Alex (Marchy from Bridesmaids). Just shows you you have to let these watches compete their "finishing" charge cycle. Even discharge it a bit so that it starts a full recharge.

It was nice meeting riders who do wave sailing and speed sailing (like me). In SA, Windsurfing styles are polar. Sailed with Daishy, Bert, Marchy and fordy007. Everybody was sailing well Cool

Smashing about-face there Goon, in what looks like a great session! Congrats!

Sorry to hear about the mast carnage Pete...I recall Full Bogan lost a mast the same way on the LG foreshore many years back. Masts get impatient down there!  :)
