Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. cA52/Tushy6.4/weedspeed23

Used up most of my leave pass giving my son a windsurfing session earlier on.  Went for a quick blast after, then came in just as the wind was getting really good. No complaints, highlight of my day was my son getting planing for the first time on my Futura 122. His grin was priceless  Smile

Expecting some big speeds to follow from the rest of the crew.

Alpha practice today, great conditions. Tabou Manta 54 (Gybe Machine) TR9 6.3m, Delta Slalom weed fin 20/55.  Now I need to trim my gear to get that little extra.  Sail was probably too full for ideal across the wind speeds, bagged it out as early on the wind was lightish.  Best seabreeze of the season.

Tabou Rocket wide 108L NP RSR E7 7.0m & E6 7.8m, LE 36cm & Elmo SS 38cm

Pruned the dogs

Fixed up the loose decking

Scrapped two computers

Wind came in early

I got to Novara early thought about rigging the 6.4 but decided to go the full Tim and rigged the 7

Lotsa wind. When I got there and when I left.

Sailed over to Claudesville.

Nailed two sweet gybes (in front of a witness)

Greatest distance since April

Thats the highlights, I can't be bothered with the negatives.

Good sailing with Hardz and Noel

My turn to get it wrong, must stop taking notice of the peak speed on the new anenometer, 19av 25kt gusts it said. So silly me took much more notice of the 25 than the 19!

Also it had been my intention of trying out fins in the 43cm board, so trusting that 25 figure I rigged the 5.4 and stuck the 16.5 cm 55deg weedy into the 43, took it out and sunk!

Did get it going in a couple of gusts, but it was obviously going to destroy my arms if I kept persevering with it. So came in and changed to the 48cm board with the good old 18cm 50deg starboard assy.

This got me going, at least I wasn't sinking, but I should also have changed to the 5.8 sail. wasn't enjoying having everybody wizz past me all the time, couldn't be bothered changing sail, so called it quits and followed salty in. Of couse he hands over to speed girl, (she who is favoured by Hui) and the wind finally kicks in! I'm already changed by then, watched every body else having a great time, and came back home to sulk.

And here's the Pixie numbers.

2s 31.898, 5x10 30.207, hr 18.822, @ 23.226, NM 29.127, distance 50.38.

Not too far off.

Bully boy fat Basil (4776km):

Wow that felt good .My best session ever.No one else would be impressed with these numbers but to me they eare gold.

Hughie smiled on me. While I was rigging I wished I had brought a smaller sail but by the time I hit the water the had dropped a little and my 5.8 Koncept was perfect.WhenI came in the wind picked to the extent that I may have been blown off the water.

Best ever day at Fangies with a good crowd of pole dancers and one well behaved tea bagger.

Fangy's with another big mob.Vintage Missy, Delta18speed Koncept6.6

The plan was to take advantage of yesterday's alpha practice and today's stronger breeze. The breeze bit was the only disappointment. It was good for the first hour but then faded. But mission accomplished. I am happy with that alpha pb and ever so slowly getting close to the magical 25 knot mark.Postsome more later - gotta feed the snotgobblers again.

And while I remember, if anyone is at a loose end this week in the mornings I am have to finish a renovation by next weeked for senior snotgobbler's birthday. I still have floor to lay and instal kitchen(already assembled) So if anyone is after pre sail poorly paid job, come on over:-)

Quick vid

soon - still uploading - come back at 6.15 pm AWST :-)

Got my bum kicked left right and centre today, I'm being very careful not to hit my peak too early here EmbarassedLaughing I did actually have a great sail today, so many ladies and guys zipping around smiling and waving, and the occasiional finger, don't know why Laughing Most of the afternoon the wind was light but towards the end it picked up nice. Did a couple of NM's with Strop only to see him disapear in the distance, the fat bastard Laughing The good news is my 2nd best Alpha and Nm today, oh and catching up with the Sail Cool

At Fangy..

Wanted a safe ground to test the new toy.. also was craving for some NMs, so Fangys was the place

Hit the water, the wind dropped Yell, took me 2h to get my first planning jybe, that fkg around just killed me! I was going to quit and the wind came.. was 15.30. Great fun for an HR then I had no juice left Cry

I had a ball doing some drag racing wiz Strop & FBob Cool, it paid off, I just love it those long leeeeegs!! All we need is an extra 10knts, no need for Albany  Tongue out

Lot of sharp people on the water, some looking like machine, SaltyN & FBob just going and going!!

Only done 2-3 alphas in that HR, I had a 25 at 60m.. . Fantastic score and PBs for few guys, thats great guys, well done Cool. And JoJo.. fantastic A, I think you sld be alright for a while Tongue out

Was great to meet FBob, and re-meet SaltyNuts Cool (no seen for 2 years), and catch up wiz few CSTs guys. I was really frustrated at first, and all came good.

About the Evo5: the pos, bloody fast take off, very stable when got the min wind.. the neg, it needs the min wind otherwise it feels unstable, the rotation is hard! (will have to do some adjs) I still thing my RS I amazing sail, it doesnt have that kick start, but its as stable and more user friendly, easy tune too. The rig up is similar, and for my lines, I had to move them 20mm forward. which is the place of my RS 5.4. Overall very happy wiz the buy

Well, I used similar gear that my last session here, wiz similar wind on that HR, just a newer sail, = 0.4 knts improvement Wink

              Coodanupwa     aka fangys,

A good fun arvo with many others out on the water.  Rigged the Cuterway 47/40 with Avi5.3 and delta sla19,... the 5.8 ka may have been better,

I had the phone going and calling out the numbers,... but that was disapionting as I was doing down wind runs I was given speeds of 32 & 33 not.

On my NM run it gave me a 35.7 last run speed, so I was pleased until I took a look at the GT-31,   Yell

Also misedout on an alpha pb by about 4 or 5m outside the gate, Frown

But hay,..  it was fun while it lasted.!!

So these are the actual numbers

from the - ZTE V811 phone - data,..

     2s - 30.98, 10s - 28.93, 1hr - 17.85, @500 - 20.64, NM - 27.73,  sort of similar to GT-31.

Great batch of pb's Basil....you deserved the full house! You certainly were in the zone today....many congrats.

Very impressive Mr Fangman....very impressive ! Well cornered indeed. Your friend Missy Screamer is a genuine cougar...mature, a bit gnarley around the edges but still able to give you a very good time. Turning around like that at critical moments truly is a bonus! Tongue out

Sammy ...magnifique! Very vite indeed. Sorry I missed you....next time eh?

'ken....what can I say except it's great to see you in the right place at the right time and delivering in spades. Congrats on all the the pb's.

Can't post today....my GT31 appears to have been programmed by the same people who predicted a few years ago that Greece's economy was going to be just fine.  I'll get 'ken or The Capt'n on to it....they have the knowledge.  For the record, my results were very, very ordinary but I had fun.

Nope - junior snotgobbler had a play with it for a few minutes. It had a cool soundtrack loop as well but youtube got grumpy about copyright and muted it :-(
