3021 days ago Stansbury, SA, AU Yay, wind.
Hurried to Stansbury after work to find windsurfers and kiters in the bay. 6 windsurfers and 2 kites. Wonderful. Tricky was out early racking up the kms, a few Townies and Simon,Paul and Anthony. Didn't hurry to rig 'cause 15 knots is on the border of suck. Chatted for quite a while then went out and managed to keep the 90 planing most of the time. It was a bit unusual to be obeying right of way rules with so much traffic on the water but got use to it after a while. It doesn't help the hour though. Came in after about 50 kms and hung around waiting for 25 to arrive. Richard gave me a Coopers beer and as soon as i sipped it the wind went to 25. So drank it down quickly and headed out on my lonesome for the best wind of the day. It was great fun gybing fast on the flat and they must have all been too wide 'cause i was scoring myself 10s. When i got back to the beach, i said to Richard and Simon, did you see those gybes and what score do i get for them. Richard said 1 and Simon said 3. Those guys. Anyway since this will be my last sail before Christmas i wish everyone in the Speed Demons a Merry Christmas, including the defectors.
Cheers

3020 days ago The forecast looked like the planets were aligning, got down early & was greeted with the easterly at about 7-12 mmmm was meant to be 17knts, Rigged the 7m Loft Racing blade dusted of the CA SL101 & slotted in a 32 Lessacher weedie, Blasted stright towards Vincent for a mile & a half when it seemed to drop so wobbled round & fell in, spent the next 10m mwaiting for a enought wind to water start, crawed back only just crearing the Jetty & landing back at the pub (should have stayed there) then lots of small tacks & a walk back. Great start first hour down & 3.5 n-miles. The wind seemed to build & swing ESE so fitted a 36 fin ann off to the the 5mile beacon & back only just, another rest on the beach. Finaly a bit more solid SE built up & I managed 3/4 planing runs & then a wobble along Then back on the plan for the next 2 hours while I waited for hoppy to turn up. Came in for a drink & discussed the conditions with Hoppy, he seemed to turn up and the wind was building a bit. Fitted a 33 Gun weedie and BAck out for the best session of the day. Hoppy made the most of the late breeze, but my Board & fin were a bit big & I was dragging on the botttom so called it a day & Packed up & Had a beer with Simon watching Jeff show off some nice jibes.
What started out as a dismal day ened well with a nice crew out & a beer with the boys.
