RRD Firestorm 101L with 7.0M T-bird & 34 EX then 30 vector weedy.

Initially was going to go for a good hour as it was actually windy but stayed inside the sandbar, had to do a gazillion gybes & lasted about 40 minutes before getting tired.

Pretty stoked I only dropped one all day in the full on conditionsLaughing plus a little round the front while going for a strap Embarassed

Best powered up sailing for a loooong time Cool

Lots of the usual suspect out & about as well enjoying the summer conditions.

Top dayTongue out

Let me just say - I did "one" gybe today & it was an absolute beauty. I was out the back & I had to keep sailing well overpowered because I was too scared to attempt a gybe. I waited for a bit of a back off & went for it - determination was the only thing that got me around. I was not willing to waterstart out in that stuff. Having said that. I did have a good sail but was quite over powered &  was happy with my efforts. LaughingLaughing Good fun day all round.

Oh! & congratulations Captain Nelson on your PB Cool

Melville Beach, WA, AU Started with 7m (under 4cm Downhaul) OD R8, 104XF, 38 CCF then 7m (with 1cm over max dhaul) 98 XF and 27DS & 34 CF

Bit surprised by the 2 second however I did have a couple of great runs across the sandbar at Sphincter factor 5 and the GPS visualiser doesnt show any road driving!

Only had the GPS on towards the end of the session as I forgot to put it on earlier.

A taste of summer, great to catch up with the crew, hit the weed and went over the handle bars on the sand bar,saw that as a warning and called it a day.

Great PB Paul! I have checked your tracks and the alpha looks good to me! Still room for improvement, as plenty of scope to head more downwind on the exit run and still be within the 50m proximity. Start and end point of the 500m were very close together!

Thanks guys, it's been nearly 4 years since I had a PB and that was an Alpha also.

Hard to believe I know, but I have been practicing & practicing and the hard work has finally paid off, just a pity I'm a slow learner.

I put the lack of PBs down to age, my gear is actually getting on a bit Laughing

Thanks for the tips Sandy, taken on-board Wink

Had a blast today, rigged & didn't touch a setting, just clenched the cheeks & went for it Surprised

Still fun to challenge yourself after so many years of the Challenge, I will now go & check young Jester's track, one of the younger crew.

great sailing Taj, and impressive speeds for a big board in that wind. A smaller board will see you smash 30 in no time.
