I'm the first one in the UK...WOW!   Looking forward to some decent postings with the rest of the team in the future.

Yesterday was very much a clear cobwebs cruise session on an Isonic 111 and 7m Redline sail. The wind was southerly and about 15knts.  This is not the best direction for Portland Harbour and being on spring tides there was not a lot of water closer in. I was on a new 39cm fin!

The water temperature was 6 degC (we have a wave bouy in the bay that we can access on line!) , and the air temperature a balmy 8deg C.  I was billy no mates!

Note for myself: in future is to try and last more than an hour and check the distance units....that should read 22kms

No challeging speeds yet..but we are on our way.  Just need a bit of this Global warming we've been promised!

Hey Normski,

You can edit your session if it's not correct.  Click the button below the results marked "Edit this session".

We're sweltering at the moment, I daren't open the doors because otherwise the 40 degree outside air will come flooding in... Phew!

Well Done Norm!!!!!

Couldn't make it out mate work commitments not working for myself at the moments so have to abide by the rules as such. But the wind is gonna start changing soon in about a week we could be getting some proper conditions for good Alphas and Speed Sailing.

But one thing i must say is thanks for the warm welcome to the UK's first post and i'm proud he's a Portland Pirate.

 Cheers,

Swags.

Thanks for the warm welcome..and Nebbian please send us a bit of that heat!

Howard...not a bad start for a softy southerner!!... and once this month and the next is out the way we'll be chasing the big boys for sure!

What let me down in the end was the cold hands, the rest of me was pretty toasty!  The snow has well and truly cleared from here and its a bright sunny Sunday morning.   Just a thought... do you think the term WIND CHILL appears in the Aussie vocabulary??

A couple of the crew looked for a session yesterday (in the pouring rain), but the wind direction was about as bad as it gets for the Salty Lake.

Great to have you guys in the challenge. Did anyone tell you about the plastic shopping bag you have to tie on your fin once you go over 30knots?Wink
