WA Surf mandurah marathon

F2SX63, RS6 7.8, drake custom 36weedy

Should have rigged the 8.4m and Pong (SXXL) but stupid me thought the wind was filling in. majorly underpowered the whole time so i was just making up numbers. Oh well it was fun.

Mandurah marathon race meet today great turnout, wind was a bit light on, was a bit underfinned but other than that was quite happy with the setup.

Being a muppet I was late getting set up had no idea where ethe markers were as I was rigging during the meeting, so just followed everyone, was a bit underpowered and under finned on the first return leg which had me way down wind ended having to do 2 tacks just to get back to aproximate area of the base gybe marker.

Second leg was better, little bit more get up and went on the next 2 legs which made it a bit easier but still not properly powered.

Was happy to be waiting at the finish line for Bender who was trying out his voodoo on me as aI apprached the gybe markers.

Had a fun run with Alex after the race accross to Claudesville past the marker, put him on the 65cm whilst I was on the SS, my little baby looked good on the water.

Great day out, great turn out, thanks go out to Hardie for organizing and Windsurfing WA for supporting the event

6.7m hellcat, 115 rocket, 40cm mfc weedie. 1st timer for me and managed to complete the course but in unfavorable conditions. Blessed with 20/20 hindsight as I'd toyed with the idea of rigging 7.2 on the 125 but thought as Bender did that the wind was filling in. Had a ball anyway and wasn't too concerned with getting a position, just finishing.

Big thanks to Hardie and WWA for the organisation of the day, look forward to many more.  CoolCoolCool

Late posting

Arrived later than planned at the Mandurah drace.

Iso105, RSS7.8 choco 40 weedy

Got to start line and waited a couple of mionutes and we were off. I got a brilliant start (for me anywayEmbarassed) planing fast and comfortably, looked back and saw 2/3 of the fleet, lookked forward, I was keping up with most of the people ahead of me and pointing a bit higher than some to try to get advantage then webbing on harness broke YellYellYellYellYell. Carried on another 500 metres before convincing myself it was daft to continue.

Headed back to beach. bl#$dy harness is only about 15 years old, has bearly been worn in. It was really comfortable too! It is in great condition apart it turns out from the webbing in the quick release clippy thing.

Will try again next year. This keeps my DNF record going so at least I am consistentEmbarassed

Heres a vid of the first leg of the race, unfortunately some gumby forgot to start his helmet camEmbarassed which is a shame cause I was watching a lot of people around meCry

Tried a different angle, apologies for my chicken legs

@ 1830WST the vid was still being processed by Youtube so quality may be a bit sketchy to start
