The forecast did not eventuate and we were a bit late onto the track to take advantage of the good squalls i saw from the clifftop before rig up. A good tuning and exercise day anyway. Used the KA Koncept 5.8 as I broke the bottom battern on the NPRSR yesterday. Board, Loomo 44, Sail KA 5.8, Fin, Loomo G10 20/8 Assy. Strapping and knee brace the same as yesterday. Keen to see how the KA measured up to Bruce's NPRSR.

Shoal Bay W-SW 5->25? squally; HW-3 to -1.5, variable wind chop; iSonic122, Venom 380, mb-1, one run on CA SL58, Venom 360, mb -1; Redline 7m0 - over-powered to slogging ... frustrating switching boards to try and match the squalls!  Plenty people out tho'

500m ~ 34.298 knots

Window of opportunity was small, by time we rigged up most of the wind had past.

50cm/70L Custom Speed, 6.4m koncept, 30cm ka fin & 28cm custom flex tip fin

Managed 4 x 10 sec runs, 35.10/34.48/34.17/33.60

Spent too much time dicking around applying more downhaul & changing fins.

1 run on the flex tip fin, (fastest run) the wind had back right off.

Of Subject, Pack my gear tonight & send of to Burrum,

Storm Trackers are talking about Hurricane Force winds hitting North Australia next week.

With the potential damage hope the Tropical Cyclone Ului drifts North.

With TC Thomas, the National Disaster Management Office (Fiji) advised people to take the warning seriously, saying this could be the worst Fiji has seen.
