Arrived a bit late so was chasing the wind. Two sails and two fins. Fastest speed early on using Redline 5.6m and 28cm falcon F1. Hour sail, including fastest mile this year, was on Redline 6.5m and 30cm falcon fin.  Nice to have some wind!!

Board Falcon 80

Finished work early to get out, launched in the middle of the harbour thought i rigged a bit over the top but after getting up wind wasn't to bad. Went for the hour but it was hard work and fell in a few times which always facks it. But got some speedsailing in not prime conditions but what fun and what a good sail.

El Reg come a cropper on the way back we went for nm but maybe  broken ribs lost it on the chop makes a change normally me that screws it, anyway great fun and a nice sail...

Hmm, maybe I would of been better off on my biger 110 board?

Short lunchtime session. Pretty frustrating to see 40knot gust 20 minutes after I headed back to work.

Good fun with Falcon 80 and 7.0 WARP 2009 sl9 select.  Great set-up!

Good speeds for Christchurch Harbour.  The fastest I see before anyway.

Shame the best wind didn't coincide with the flattest water. Good day all the same. More wind soon I hope

is it always that gusty in that direction (SSW when I was out) in windy corner? hard to get 10 secs of top speed from each gust?

what size board is the fastest for 7.8m today, I was 94isonic.

Yes!!!

But you need to read the wind a bit more and get the angles right its not as easy as it looks mate, when you get to a certain platform the extra knots take time to come.

You will get there trust me.

Laters Swagger.

Peter...look forward to catching up with you and welcome to the bus pass club!

Swagger...considering the conditions, your mile PB must have been one of the scariest!  Mine sure was and the wind had dropped a good bit by then!

Kev (El Req)...Get well soon!

Chandler...The wind sure was gusty and closer in it was really bad.  A few more degrees of west would probably have cleaned it up. The Portland Port anemometer is about 50 foot high and over reads big time.  When I arrived I took a reading on my hand held jobbie and it was about 15knts standing on top of the old railway embankment ..(and I rigged 5.6m???)...that correlated with the lowest indicated wind speeds on the Portland anemometer!

Was a bit lumpy mate didn't help with the wake of a boat went a bit sideways for a while so lost a lot time there. But strangely it was quite a nice run in the chop i'd say about 2 foot towards the end.

El Reg got a good NM with a gybe in it!!!!
