Big gear (fin too), dark water, and sandbank don't mix. Lucky I wasn't going fast but just the way I landed on my foot. Too painful to put weight on it (sail) so had to walk back half way along the edge (up to my waist/neck) with the gear then KingaRay (who I was out with) went across to get a paddle. We derigged on the other side and paddled home. All pretty straight forward except that the wind kept blowing!!! The problem now is more urgent patients keep coming in! Never mind :-)

An update. Got x-rays done last night and got a fractured fibular. Doc told me will be out of action for 6-8 weeks. No worries I told her. It's just a simple sprain and will be back on the board in a coupla days. Then she put me in plaster/bandage (now the dam foot won't fit in the strap) and said to see my GP & get a referral for an orthopedic surgeon.   sad photo smiley.jpg

Oh no,,hope it heals fast for you. Guess it means your not going to the lake tomorrow. Is the fracture in your lower leg near ankle? I can recommend Dr Bernie Tamba Lebie orthopedic surgeon in Buderim. I saw him when I fractured the talus bone in left ankle. (Same thing hitting sandbar) It was non displaced and didnt need surgery but I had to have 10 weeks in a boot with crutches and no weight bearing.

The fracture is near the ankle Kellie, it is non displaced. Thanks for the info. I will use it if I can get in quick without having to wait too long to see him!
