Wellington Point, QLD, AU, Falcon 104, Warp 6.8 and Viper 34. Too rough for me again. Needed it more from the east. Maybe next time.

Working up north and after a long, long drive from Emerald finally arrvied at Yeppoon to find it "blowing".  With only my GPS I had to call on the generosity of Sausage would supplied me with a rig ASAP and we hit the water. Some big ramps out in the bay and we had some good runs but the wind faded quickly.

Many thanks for the gear Sausage and the beers after!

Isonic 93L? 6.1 sail?, Tect 31 (lovely fin)

Lake Cootharaba, QLD, AU. Dissapointing day, wind never got above 18kts, got there about 12.30, a few out planing in very gusty NW, rigged 7.0 loft on JP130,select41, got a couple of runs in then it dropped out then came in finally from N. Eventually enough to get out on starboard carve[33select, to small for 10-18kts] fun board to ride, obv not as fast as slaloms but comfy in chop & lovely to gybe, could sail all day on it. Out with Kelly,Greg,Anne,Neil,KenL,Eric,Chris,Hooray,Herbie& a few others

Mad dash after work to pick up my new boards from the depot .

headed straight to wello had too unpack the 2014 IS97 and put the staps on.

Finally got on the water wow what a diff feel this board has compared to my 2012 model.

Still need some more time on the board but it does feel loser in the tail but still has that starboard ride to it.

You can definitely run smaller fins on this board compared to the old one.

Gear new 2014 ISonic 97, Blade 7, S234

Phil,

Great that you could get a sail in Yaspoon.  Hopefully you'll keep the area on your rounds and we can do it again one day.

PS - gear was S-Type 93, 6.1CodeRed, 31 Goldwing

Nice board Vando - interesting to hear they don't need as much fin as earlier models.

Yer Snags specs on the board still show the same fin sizes but normally when i run a 34 and the 7 it lets go alot but today was fine.

The bottom shape is alot differant to my old one. I take some more pics when ive got some daylightSmile

Nice speed Vando!

Do you find new isonic 97 easier in chop and gusts compared to old model?

Phil, im pretty sure there mullet, i usually clip 1 or 2 every time im out, most of the time its just a clunk on the fin but yest hit one square on that threw me over the front again, no rigg damage but bum has nice boom bruise & sore finger as well. Should try weed fin? The mullet netters are working the lake every day so they should be thinning them out slowly, only seem to hit them in certain areas
