Byron Mcilveen (63644km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Maui TR11 6.6, exocet RS2 new, 19 delta new board was jybing and going fast today it was very flat and nice jybing but just wasnt enough wind to do an epic alpha, showing 30 knots at Nohra but was more like 23 on the lake. nice day sail most were at cantong today so had the lake to my self for a while.

Tibor (17568km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU arrived definitely too late. Found Byron and Wayne still hanging on there. By the time l got out with 58wide sonic and 6.7m sail i just got a few nice planes. Still worth it. Wonder how Bruce went? He came later and used bigger gear. Still, what a week?....we have sailed everyday and there is Marmong tomorrow for the formula.!!! | ||||||||||||||||||
Andrew Haigh (49033km): Coal Point, NSW, AU CA70 Vmax 41 7.6 Late arvo sail, still a fair bit of wind at Coalie. Spent some time setting up my new Severne boom. installed cleats for the adjustable outhaul and new 'Clip' Harness lines. Without writing a Sue style epic I can't begin to explain the number of things that went wrong. Spent much time stood on the sand islands trying to sort things out.

Bruce Healey (24088km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Pretty crap arvo after the morning shift used it all up. No regard for their elders. Only got a couple of bearaways as it was so hard getting upwind with big sail on small board & fin. Byron packing up as I rigged, Tibor & wayne caqme back before I went out. Just me & new Justin. sboardcrazy (24432km): 15-24kts SSW Canton Beach, NSW, AU - 6m OD + 79ltre falcon + 25cms tribal then 30 cm weedie Bit disappointed in the stats as I went there to improve my nm + hr.Would have beaten my LG hr PB if I hadnt had weed problems. Prob not a good day to go for an hr . Awake since 1am and almost going to sleep driving down. Pretty choppy, no flat water and overpowered at times. Should be able to improve on the hr as I used the tribal weedie and it was crap. I couldn't put any pressure on it or it would spinout ( too small for the 6m?) + it caught weed so the hr attempt had about 6x get offs to get weed off fin.. Didn't drop a gybe though and even a few planing ones in the chop ..( not brilliant but kept some ok speed). Nice to get a nm without gybes in it for once- pity about the chop. Mat out too doing a brilliant job getting his hr PB + Glynn . Later Pete , Pugs , Frothie + some freeriders. Wanted to go for distance but so tired I was an accident waiting to happen. Put the 30cm weedie on and A1- Rock solid and didn't pickup weed. Grr ..I should have had that on at the start except it was so I was windy worried the board would be uncontrollable.Nice to use smaller kit for a change. Fun sailing with Mat . Sue took lots of great shots so will upload slowly over next week. |
