Good short fun blast. Smaller turn out than yesterday with the usual suspects in almost summer like sailing conditions. Still very gusty but some ever tempting flat water over the sand bar. Unfortunatelyy couldn't seem to line up the gust.

strong winds with big gusts but few lulls. most people were rigging 5.5 or 6m. got out and hit my top speed on the first run. Then as I got tired wrestling with the sail I didnt bother bearing away anymore and just tried to hold on.

One guy got his X-trail SUV stolen while he was riggin up. Should avoid putting the key under the wheel arch.

Safety Bay, morning session and Melville for a quick late blast at around 3:30.

Hit the beaver around 9 and the tide was lapping the jetty, which meant there was plenty of rolling chop on the run. Never really overdone on the 5.7, but gave it an hour or so just to be sure the wind wasn't going to boot in, and then changed up to 6.3. Lucky too, because as the tide dropped the wind backed off. Got one 37 and a few 36s spread pretty evenly between the 5.7 and 6.3 (peak on the 5.7 earlier). Jammed in a lunch engagement in East Freo and then off the Melville for about 30-40 mins at the end of the day. Pretty good way to spend a Sunday, really Cool No NMs today sadly, best one had 2 gybes in it.

A double header - top effort Jake. Did the SB tide produce some flat water while you were there?

Yeah, there were some nice patches behind the rolling swell, Anita. Sadly, the gusts weren't always there when you wanted them to be. Tide got a bit better at around 11pm and by 12 the level was getting low enough to make the weed a bit more of an obstacle for my non raked fin. When I started, there wasn't a ribbon in sight, which was really cool. I don't think I've ever been that lucky.

It was only a brief window of weed-free-bliss. Wasn't long before that clean, single run pinching upwind to the start of the run became two.
