Gusty sail today, started with Exocet Warp 90L, Gator 6.0 and BP 30, but couldn't handle the big gusts so changed too far down to 4.7 . Ok in th e gusts but no good in the lulls. Will get this right one day! Good to catch up with Martin from the Mob!

Got down early to get the low tide but wind did not come to the party. Picked up nicely around lunch for a good sail!

JP FSW 93L, JP FSW 28cm Fin, EVO5 6.4m. Woohoo. First time on the water for over 6 months. So unfit it's not funny.

Arrived at VP to see Greg and Richard having a chat about sail sizes so whipped out the trusty meter to check the strength. Comfy 17-18 knots with the odd puff to 21 knots. Everyone agrees about 6m should work for this and go about rigging. I down my trusty Honey and Cheese sandwich and think the 6.4m should be ok as I've not been out for so long I can't see me needing any larger. So rig up and get ready to head out only to meet others coming back in saying it's increased and they are going smaller. At this point I was hot and sweaty enough already so just wanted to get wet. Grabbed the smallest board option being the untried new JP FSW 93L and off I went. Probably not a great combo with a race sail and wave type board but lets give it a go as the water condition was far from flat. Anyway the water was very rough once out there and the board just ate it up. Super comfy and never had a moment and no sore knees tonight. Need to play with settings some more as it wasn't great with the race sail but just happy to be out there. No attempt at anything special for numbers as my arms gave out rather soon into the session and hands stopped grabbing the boom for some reason...... Anyway the wind was 22 to 26knots by now and I could hang onto it any longer. Done for the day. One thing is I need to buy a better fin to go fast on this board. What came with it is shit. Probably ok for up to maybe 25knots and very forgiving but it would let go everytime I approached 30 knots. First time I couldn't bring the fin back under me too. Yuk. Happy days. PS. Great to catch up with you Greg.

Edit: Results from GW60 are: 2Sec = 29.23 / 5x10 = 26.51 / 1hr = 8.63 / Alpha = 17.37 / NM = 20.97 Not sure why the alpha is so different to the GT31 and it never displayed an alpha on screen while on the water?????

Glad you finally scored a good session at Stanley. Looked like you were having a ball out there today,  you were right in your element ... well apart from the temperature. Been great sailing with you. Hope to catch up with you and Sue again some time. Enjoy the rest of  you trip.
