Trying out a quad for the first time.  Not really impressed.  It doesn't release easily, doesn't seem to carve round a gybe, doesn't point... gosh.  I should have brought my old 2007 Acid.

We decided to do a bit of sight seeing whilst waiting for the wind to pick up towards the afternoon. Unfortunately the wind was dropping off a bit and didn't appear to be picking up as forecast. So after taking a few cheesy tourist photos at teh light house we had a renowned beef and guinness pie then faced the cold again to rig up. After hoping to be able to stretch the legs on the old 5.8M KA Koncept I unfortunately had to again rig the biggest sail I packed and put a bigger fin in the board. There were a lot more kites on the water and a couple of windsurfers too. Managed to get a good couple of hours on the water and fortunately the wind did pick up so I was able to put a smaller fin in and straight away improved the top speed by almost 2 knots. The wind was increasing and the kites had packed up but unfortunately it was time for us to pack the car and make the trip pack to the city.

Thanks to Anita for high-ligting the forcast and the Pinnaroos guide to windsurfing spots was a huge help. I expect I'll make this a regular trip when all the starts align to make it happen.

Thanks guys.

Evets, it just wasn't working for me yesterday, arm was getting pumped up, I just wasn't feeling the love with this board.  Maybe I need to put some bigger fins on it.

A great weekend for you, Cannonball, two top hours and a second best distance. I'd say it was worth the drive!

and two Pinnaroos in Augusta at the same time. it is a pity Ben 1 didn't know B2 was there!

How cold was it? Albany looked miserable.

Anita Albany was mostly ok yesterday. When it wasn't raining anyway it was almost pleasant. Who am I kidding, any 50km day is fun.

Ok so this was 10 days earlier when it was a few degrees warmer and there was less cloud :-)

I was very close to coming down to Albany - even had my bag packed - but 4-5 hours of driving for 18 degrees and rainy wasn't very attractive when it was going to be 28 and sunny here. Even if there was wind.

Looks like you had a decent sail B1, Well done! Sorry for your frustration B2. Or do I have that back to front! Laughing

I saw that Augusta was blowing, but dismissed it.  It was a magic spot in a SEly 10yrs back, but I found the last few attempts (2-3yrs ago) just too frustrating with the high sand bar. Has it improved any in the last couple of years?
