Snickers (12777km):
2560 days ago 1 categories We decided to do a bit of sight seeing whilst waiting for the wind to pick up towards the afternoon. Unfortunately the wind was dropping off a bit and didn't appear to be picking up as forecast. So after taking a few cheesy tourist photos at teh light house we had a renowned beef and guinness pie then faced the cold again to rig up. After hoping to be able to stretch the legs on the old 5.8M KA Koncept I unfortunately had to again rig the biggest sail I packed and put a bigger fin in the board. There were a lot more kites on the water and a couple of windsurfers too. Managed to get a good couple of hours on the water and fortunately the wind did pick up so I was able to put a smaller fin in and straight away improved the top speed by almost 2 knots. The wind was increasing and the kites had packed up but unfortunately it was time for us to pack the car and make the trip pack to the city.
Thanks to Anita for high-ligting the forcast and the Pinnaroos guide to windsurfing spots was a huge help. I expect I'll make this a regular trip when all the starts align to make it happen.
