Kanahooka, NSW, AU NWN to S to W, 0 - 20 knots!!

FOIL

Well that was an adventure! I was desparate for a foil so went out with a fairly high chance of a drifter, but hit some wind about half way over to Primbee . Had a fun 30 - 40 minutes, with some good upwind flights, but a bit harder downwind. One good stack downwind when at max speed - a  bit ouch. Dark clouds came over and the wind picked up - best of the day.Smile. Unfortunately the wind then turned off , and I was near the green pole - doh. It felt like 2 hours of drifting, paddling and wading to get back to KH, with puffs of wind coming from the N and then the S, but mostly nothing. Of course when I finally got back to shore a strong westerly blew through, but only for 10 minutes and then back to 0 knots!

Lesson here is that the Hyper is a bit small with the race sail in (very) marginal wind. Bigger foil board on order!

Good news story bushfire.  40min of fun is worth the effort in such desperate times.

You were braver than me for launching at Kanahooka with bugger all breeze (when I was there) on  a 105.
