Another morning session riding the easterlies. Filled in better than yesterday but a bit lumpier in the middle. Still dialing in the EVO8 5.6, tried some more settings and seem to be taming it. Broke a harness line so stuffed up a nice hour I was doing. Not to worry, still plenty more wind this season. Up to day 78 on the water for 2017, 10 days behind last year so a bit of catching up to do.

Season's not over yet Barton, come on out...air is clear, water is warm and wind is blowing! Anyone would think you are scared of the Gorge chop monster.Embarassed

Actually, part of my problem is vision, or more specifically double vision, which has gotten significantly worse in the last 2-3 weeks. When I wake up in the morning I have double vision for about 20 minutes which gradually reduces to a small range of head motion where I can see without double vision. Visited the doctors at OHSU yesterday. Basically, the phasing off of Prednisone to Methotrexate is not working so we are starting over.  The reduction in the dose of Prednisone has allowed the tumor behind the eye (idiopathic orbital inflammation) to increase in size, maybe even worse than when first diagnosed last February. I am starting over with large doses of Prednisone and will be phasing over to a different steroid sparing medication (which, right now, the insurance doesn't want to pay for...). So, am I scared of the Gorge chop? Given that I have difficulty seeing it, yes... Frown. Flat water sailing, like at Floras Lake hasn't been as much of an issue since I can keep my head more stable/level, and I don't have to worry about the chop...

Sorry to hear mate, no fun getting old and having these problems. Wish you the best with the treatment and hopefully you'll be back up to speed soon.

Thanks Roo. Once the Prednisone kicks in, the vision should improve - and then we start the phase out process again. As my mother used to say before she passed, "Getting old isn't for sissies"...
