Melville Beach, WA, AU

First sail back a Smelville in a little while. Wind decent out the back and down towards the kiters beach. Might need to repair my boom clamp as is looks like its going to go any second.

Foilville

had the day off before I have to hop on a plane tomorrow morning, had a bunch of stuff to do but the wind was looking too nice to resist a sail in the afternoon

another hard call on sail size today but decided to rig small and see what the 5.1 could do, nearly didn't even pack it in the car but very glad I threw it in last minute

it was the right call today, was a bit underdone at times but very powered up for the majority, was a bit gusty when I got on the water at about 3:30

had to fiddle with the setup for a while to work out where the 5.1 likes to be on the foil but got it going pretty well for most of the sesh, it is really nice to get on the really small light sails on the foil for sure

I persisted with trying for some speed behind the peli point sand bar in the flat water but it didn't feel like it was working for some reason perhaps too many jelly fishTongue out but the gps has confirmed that all my best speeds and alpha were out in the swells in the middle of the river

even had a display of 27.09 knots but alas I with have to keep trying to get the 2 sec over 27, definately wasn't hitting as much of a speed wall with the 5.1 but I think 28 is probably the most my weight will ever be able to push my foil to, could for sure see myself cracking a 20 knot alpha and not sure who knows how much further I will be able to push that

but I think these speeds are scary enough so no need to get too carried away, had a couple of decent crashes luckily no damage to the gear but I am feeling a bit sore

all up an awesome day on the water that definately put a smile on my faceLaughing
