Stansbury, SA, AU: 109 Supersport, 5.5 Ezzy Cheetah, 26 MUF Weedy. Me and Kym headed to Stans early to catch the morning session (forecast to blow all day). On the water just before 10am. I got a 30.49kt instantaneous, but couldn't get the 2sec. Afternoon session not so good. Alternating berween nothing and 20 knots. Me and Kym got the best of it. Unfortunately the other 5 sailors didn't have such a good time.

Lake George, SA, AU

iS107 / 7.0R7 / 42 Vector weed speed (even this fin got caught in the weed)

iS107 / 7.0R7 / 31 BP Weedspeed (under finned) for the width of the board

iS87 / 7.0R7 / 31 BP Weedspeed (ok in the stonger puffs...)

Day trip on the hope of a good forecast - not an epic forecast (they are on the way), but a good forecast none the less.

The forecast wind did not eventuate.

There are weed beds. It is flat, and will only get flatter.

The big winds are yet to come.

I am excited!!

The positives:

- 800km round trip drive through awesome country with a stunning sunset in the Coorong on the way home, music blaring, windows down, heated seat on, fkn awesome

- Sailed Lake George again

- Caught up with Rod (who appeared out of the bushes) and met Peter (I think?) from Vic on his kite

- Caught up with Adam from Boggy holidaying with his kids at Robe

- Caught up with Michael Craig after maybe 15 years, we used to windsurf at Lake George

- Had beer with me

The negatives:

- None

Well done to Choce who timed it well the day before!

Thanks Carl. A couple of other things to mention about this session. I've sailed Stans about 20 times now. on seabreezes. This was the worse session for forecast prediction. When it was glassy, was when the wind dropped out, so I missed out on the mirror smooth water. The forcast was for it to blow all day, with the stronger session being the arv. The wind wasn't square at all today so, only alternative run could go on the smooth. The morning session was also choppy. I wasn't game enough to go to the "Channel" (3-4 km out) let alone in the arv incase I got stuck out there. The water was over 30C (and hotter than the air). Surprising, when I left Adelaide at 7am I had the A/C on and it was upper 20's, maybe 30C. Stansbury was lower 20's all today. Got back to Adelaide at 9:30pm and A/C was back on !.. over 30C for sure. Sweating my guts out unpacking my car last night. With the hot water temp at Stans, you would expect the air temp to be hot as well ? (unless the Spencer Gulf was cold ?). Probably factor why the arv session was bad ??
