Rushed after work B&J sail. Rigged small freeride kit again and launched into big winds. Something didn't feel right, and found the mast join was only partly engaged. Had to do the whole derig 500m up the beach and rig to lock the two halves together then discovered (luckily) the universal pin was half unscrewed. Finally after sailing back to the launch point and swapping to the spare uni, it was on.

By that stage the breeze had dropped a bit but still had some fun runs and big air. Reallylove sailing smallgear.

Not really enough flat water and breeze for decent bearaways though.

Great start to the weekend.

Yay, the GT31 lives !, after finding it up to its eyeballs in seawater inside the pouch it started making bleeping noises I'd never heard before then 5 minutes later it shut off and wouldnt restart. After opening up and cleaning it out with crc and leaving it overnight she's fired up like normal.

So anyway it was a better session than I hoped for using the JP real world wave and 24cm wave fin, kult 4.7 was surprised to get over 25 since it feels slow and controlled in the rough water.

Ha, trust an engineer to keep a sloppy maintenance program Troy!  Then again maybe if I focussed on properly sealing my aquapac my GPS wouldnt have got drowned today! Its opened up and drying out so will try and start it  tomorrow.

Yep another great small gear day.
