Point Grey, WA, AU

Last minute rush to Boombas for a quick blast. Good to see some of the Mandurah mob living the dream. Discovered a limestone reef inside the entrance to Austin Bay. Some fin work to be done. NP V8 6.7 JP Slalom 113

Well that was kind of extreme for foiling, lots of survival stances so i called it quits before i broke something important.

Hats off to Craig (windsup) for battling on his maiden voyage. It was very extreme for a first go.

bit too windy for foiling on the 4.7 sail so decided to save it for another day. Went out briefly on the wave board but a bit underpowered on that. Just as we were derigging the wind dropped. stopped by Melville afterwards for a chat with a few others. Good to see Anita on the water again.Wink

Melville Beach, WA, AU iS111, 6.2K 33 Tribal weedie

The best sail I have had in ages (the only sail I have had in ages). I finished work earlier than expected (that doesn't happen very often) and encouraged by wind + sunshine I set out, but as usual the clouds filled in by the time I got to Melville. The relative warmth and lack of rain was still good, and made up for the shifty gusty wind.  I chose the right gear today and I was planing most of the time, and it was good to catch up with Boz and Kenny and some of the other regulars.

Typical winter sail started of okay but dropped awayafter an hour or so, used 3 boards today the 61 first, 59 back from repairs, then the 71,Ben loaned me a 7.5 to go out for a run with Tom thinking more wind was going to eventuate, alas it was like 2 snails racing to one end of Melville then half snail pace back to the launch area. Still nice to be on the water even Anita made an appearance, usual suspects at Melville and Ken also made an appearance after WindFoiling.

foilville

got down to the river just as everyone else was packing up as they were saying it was too windy, but as I was rigging the wind was only getting lighter and lighter. I commited to the small gear and dissapointingly it didn't pay off, spent nearly all afternoon bobbing around in the rain with only a couple of clouds bringing some small breif squalls

think that is still a 2 sec PB for the foil but feel a bit robbed as was feeling confident of a 28 with a display of 28.45

Looking forward to more foil sessions on THE COUGAR Tongue out

5.6 reflex 4, THE COUGAR, NP F4 with the small wing

Good on ya for getting down there Woody. A shame you found Narimba Cay!

Woody - when the tide is low enough for flat water at Boombas you have to watch out for the cay unless you are using a shallow draft fin.

Kenny - was the speed you posted on my gear or on the foil? The 2 sec was almost exactly the same!
