FOIL
First outing of my new Foil 177 board. A big beast of a board, dimension wise - not much windsurfing left in this design but turns out to be well behaved and comfortable on the foil. A lot of real estate to put the feet on , however the strap positions are spot on. The big wide nose was potentially a problem but performs well in touchdowns and doesn't seem to get blown around too much in the wind. The footstraps are a long way from the board centreline so it is easy to rail over going upwind and the chicken strap position makes for a comfortable downwind stance.
Tried the racefoil with a 7m sail and this ran well. I suspect the board will shine with larger race sails, however even with the smaller sail and the GT foil it felt good. A lot more tuning and practice required to get the most from this board.
