No wonder I'm tired... thought I only had a short session around the River today, but ended up with 70+km. GPS read 35 kt peak, probably right before a catapult!

I turned up fairly early, around 8:30 on the water before Wayne, Georgio, Ken & Conner turned up. Rigged my 90L iSonic slam-board, 31cm VMax2 and TRXi 6.3, which was pretty much the right gear. To small when the lull's hit, but good enough for the gusts. A few off-the-wind chop runs where the current wrapped the swell lines along a broad reach, were fun! Had more power than I could fully use, but delighted in the ticca-ticca sound amoungst the slap slap slams.

One gybe up near the sand bar, and again near the red-marker, leant too far forward, wetting the board, slowing down, shifting momentum forward, increasing the water line, slowing me down, rapidly, fly, roll, splat. Landed on my back and skidded to a halt. Thankfully unhooked both times. Second was faster and harder.

The long runs downwind were good fun too. Had to wait for a skwall so there was a lot of wind to make it over the trees, but then the water was flatter and easy enought to make it back up the river without to much effort thanks to the big W in the wind.

Tired now! Left a bit early for a coffee with my wife and maths with my HSC daughter.

Damn, missed 35kts by .2, missed 20kts alpha by .6... still great fun! I hope others got out to enjoy the strong winds!

RS3/ Koncept 5.8/ Sonntag 35 & also a few runs with Kode 94/ 28 freewave fin

Went to Botany at the gas stn and got scared by the chop that looked more like the roraring 40s. At the river too inconsistent for the Kode, the 5.8 only good in the gusts, a lot of work but at least a few good runs. Then the wind dropped and was too tired to rig again.

NEXT SUNDAY WILL CELEBRATE ANDREW'S 10K KMS AND BEROWNE'S BIRTHDAY, DEPENDING ON THE WIND WE WILL MEET AT KYEEMAGH OR GAS STN. ALL DDS AND WINDSURFERS INIVITED !!!!
