After the cold snap of the last few days at least the temperature is on the rise, wall to wall sunshine too:) Todays forecast was always going to be marginal so when Michael Galbrieth messaged on WhatApp that he was at The Manor I hitched the trailer and went down to met up at midday. It didn’t look overly inviting with the tide coming in it was a lumpy mess with a bit of a shore dump and fishermen in most of the bays:( Michael was rigging 7.5 so with the big sea I didn’t fancy 8.5 so took a chance with 7.8 on the 295. With the wind SSE fairly onshore I managed to get off the beach avoiding the fishermen. I had a few runs a couple of miles down the coast in marginal planing conditions in a big messy sea. Then the wind dropped, I then fell in turning had trouble waterstarting and then wobbled back to the shore to pack up, not the best session this month! Might be some wind Saturday and a fun session at Southend might be on the cards if I can be bothered to drive 70 miles but Felixstowe is not a whole lot of fun in a cold messy sea, at least it will be a better tide at the weekend so who knows????
