Sunday 18th November – windsurf **** The Dip - Felixstowe– sunny.

27.25 knot max., 25.36 knot ave ., 7.11 knot hour, 17.54  knot mile, 27.10 km., 13.13 knot alpha.

For the second day running with have sunshine and an east wind. I was in no hurry to get down to The Dip waiting for the tide to approach low water arriving at the beach just before midday. There were a few out with most on around 7.5 and being under at that point so I had no choice than rig as yesterday. David Coles was again out on his foil and my plan was to sail down the coast with him but changed my mind when I headed out a fraction under and the sea was very big towards the Fludgers so I turned and beat up and into the River Deben in search of some flat water. You always get less wind here in the river and it was slow going beating slowly up river towards the Sailing club against the tide. It was a bit fast going the other way but nothing special but lovely sailing on super flat water straight into the sun:) The wind steadily increased as did my speeds peaking at 27 knots. After an hour or so by myself, not even the kitesurfers were out, if fact they came down late and were only out a short while, lightweights!!! I got feed-up with the slow beat and headed back out to sea a bit nervous that I was going to be way over. I followed the channel markers out and then sailed broad for a mile or so which was great fun, sadly I then took 20 minutes to beat back against the tide. It was getting too late to rig something else so I called it a day. I was warming up in the van changing when Mag arrived on her bike bringing a sandwich:) Again I was nearly last to leave after another nice session with the same again tomorrow but the temperature is dropping so will have to see, might have an hour at low water?
