1893 days ago Lake George, SA. FF89, RB 6.3, WS31. Cold and gusty welcome to a place I had wanted to sail for years. Started with Fangy Fin 20, which felt too small for the board and conditions; BP WS "31" felt better, and was fine except in one patch where weeds were close to the surface. Never got dialed in well, conditions would have allowed better speeds. Wind was too much up and down to let Nina use Mike's 39 cm board, so I was stuck with the Falcon, which I have yet to get dialed in well for high wind. Funny how perspectices change - before this trip to Oz, the nauti today would have been a PB (it's just a 3rd-best now), and the top speed would have been a top-5; now, it was just a not-so-great day. Pretty soon, we'll regard 15 C as very warm .. but we'll also have our winter gear. The 2 mm summer long john and 1.5 mm top were not quite enough today.
