Not the best of days. Arrived - wind strong, so started to rig 6.6 sail and 86L board... wind dropped out. Waited - wind came up, but not so strong. No water at Angling Club so moved to rotunda. Wind light, so rigged 7.4 and 121L board. Got out past the pier and the wind had shifted WNW, maybe 25+ knots plus very big gusts. At one point I reckon I was sailing on just the fin, and the board wanted to fly. My gear was way too big. Came in to shore and accidentally stood on a bee, so it stung me between my toes. Ouch.  As I de-rigged I saw the wind had settled and the whitecaps disappeared - perfect for gear I'd rigged. Too late. De-rigged, went home and had a beer. Much more sensible.

Andrew - hope you had a better sail than me.

Yes - the wind appeared to settle nicely as you went out and I came in . I must have hit a momentary bad patch.
