Tried North Creek Ballina, NSW, AU with Neale.

It was getting too shallow in a lot of places as the tide dropped. After touching the bottom on one bank, walking across that, then touching the bottom on the next bank and walking across that. I finally hit a nice darker looking patch of water. Hooked in, feet in the straps, sheeted in, then to my horror, there was an old concrete pipe just under the surface. Bang! I catapulted over it and landed in some barnacle encrusted rocks. Glad I was wearing booties. Snapped about 5 cm off my fin. Luckily I was on my old Kode and the box was undamaged. Went back in and grabbed the 105 and just played over in the first channel. So gusty, tight area, large chop in the channel, and one huge 40+knot rain squall, it was quite a challenge but still good to be out there. I feel if we were there on the high tide it could have been a really good sail as the whole area would be waste deep and a few little waves to play in.

Kode 103/Xfire 105, M2 6.2, Lockwood 27 speed
