Port Douglas, QLD, AU

Now that turned out to be a bit of fun in the sun after eventually, finally, showing its self. The radar had a large blob of wet, rainy shite stuff hanging over Port for hours and by 2 oclock I was just going to keep working....when a miracle occurred. No, a Catholic Priest didnt confess, however, the the rainy wet stuff abated and the sun shone brightly for the rest of the arvo....Whhooo, Hoooo. On the blower to Ed and on the water by 3pm, which was perfect. Nice 13-15ktr, perfect, big gear and a reasonably neap tide. Happy Days as they say.

Well that lasted all of 30 mins before the wrath turned up (must have heard my remark about Catholic Priest's) and the white water turned up and the nasty lumpy wet ocean stuff started to rear its ugly head. Dont reckon it was 20, but certainly was getting close and a 77cm wide board was heading to the heavens at one point. ED sailed on like a trooper before we both said enough was enough before we destoyed some gear. Plenty of shore breaks to be had but that was the most physical sail ive had this year.

Used: AHD FreeDiamond 149, OD R4 7.8, 47 SRide.

iS107, 7,8 RBlade, 36 Tribal Sl - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU ESE 17-21kn

Bit up and down but felt perfectly weighted with this combo today.  Happy with my numbers all round although would have liked a 30+peak.  Surprisingly my arms held out and i just snuck an hour in too.  Oh and forgot about the Dolphin who tried to play chicken across my bow with me going broad.....could have been worse though - it could have been a chicken playing dolphin with me ;-)

Good to see Ed and Billy getting a sail in, forecast looks ok for the next week if the rain stays away.

Looks like similar weather pattern to December/January where the coast from Bundy to Mackay had the best wind which is good news for sausage.
