George (32558km): ![]() Kyeemagh, NSW, AU || 12-16 ENE RRD Lightwind/ Karace 8.7/ Custom 51 (formula reboxed) Light and patchy, but the right rig for the conditions. Did a run to Kurnell and then freeriding along the runway. The 'new' fin seems good. Great to see Walt and family having a fair go for those having a go !! Craig squeezing all the juice from that little wind, coffee man starting to go fast on RS6, Dieter getting better on his wing toy. See you all next time

AlfaMale (20000km): ![]() Day 1 of the Slalom state's, up at Mungo Brush, NSW, AU
I got bored waiting for wind so tried a few rides; 1. Foil board and 10.0 - SkyBlade (good in the light stuff, but wanted to try closer to 12kt-15kts) With good technique had the foot almost touching the deck. Then, while out on the 10 skyblade and slalom board, some wind finally came through, felt like minimum 12kts pushing to 18kts in the gusts (10.0 held it OK!)... So I came in to hear the race call had been set for 20 minutes... GPS 30min was on. Finally some racing! I considered derigging the 9.3 in favour of my 8.0 which would have been better for the gybes and gusts, but kept the 9.3 because I thought that over a 30min GPS race the penalty for not planning would be greater than being over sailed. Some of the gusts were a little hairy, and I wish I had set my harness lines 10cm further back, but I think I did OK... excpet only had 1 or 2 planing gybes and l had to kick my cams every time. Really need to shave a few cm off those newish ones ( I remmber doing the 7.7 a while ago). Anyway I don't know when the 28kts was recorded, or the 19kt alpha, nor the 22kt NM (suspect during the challenge!), but milked the best of the day. Cam back to the beach way downwind as the breeze died, I ended up being the 2nd last out, because I spent an extra half hour trying to get back upwind as the wind was dying. Enough to plane, but not point, so I had to walk back for a few hundred metres. Been a long time since I've done that! Fell to the couch exhausted! and Happy
