Mungo Brush, NSW, AU.

NSW GPS/Slalom Series.

Nice southerly came through around lunch time so out for some Slalom. Wind was a bit light at times but as always lots of fun and action for those out there giving it a go.

Isonic 117, new Loft 7.8 Switch Blade. (Time for the old faithfull/famous blue Loft 7.8 to retire), Vmax 41.

WWell...well...my first foil/slalom . I was a bit scared before l went out as there seemed to be a good slalom breeze but after doing a quick lap of the course l felt more confident . To my delight l had a few people behind me in both of the races that l did. After the break l was getting cold and didn't continue to do the last one.

Anyway. .so far l had a great time ...

What a place...it's paradise ?

7.5m Gt Turbo- Rs4 ( 111ltre) - 39cm C3 sting pointer

Two runs on the 85ltre Windtech Magic bullit - 23cm makani fin- 5.7m gator

Fun! Best sail of the weekend.

It came in at 15-20kt so I rigged the Windtech but then it died down Frown so I rigged the big kit.

A bit patchy but I was powered up enough to be planing most of the time and hanging on wishing I was on smaller kit at times in the gusts. Most consistent sail I've had for a while. I'm a bit disapointed in the distance as the watch said 63kms..Frown

I'm stoked I got a few ok gybes in the smallish chop , even planing out with a few pumps. It was fun crossing paths  with Jeff and making faces at him as he foiled past..Laughing

I was well powered on the slalom board but it was bashing a bit and I really wanted to try the Windtech - the gusts were enough but it was pretty patchy. Luckily it was onshore so I risked it. I managed to get out and back without getting stuck out there and the few gusts where I got planing had me hollering in glee.

The boards  longer than normal and when it gets up and goes it sits on the tail with the rest of the board above the water and it feels like it's floating..Tongue out Oh for a consistent 20kts session..Undecided

The straight tracks are mostly the slalom board , the wobbly ones are the waveboard..

3 great down wind slalom races 12 to 18 knots where you can wait in waist deep water on sand in the middle of the lake. gusty southerly just goes to show you cannot trust predictions you just have to be there.

Had a great time could have sailed 4 days in a row but came home this arvo but the people who stayed got to sail in a strong easterly breaze that no one prediceted late in day.
