Short sail with Boom Busta. Good to meet Mark and Andrew. Was hard to tell what the wind was going to do today. Was leaving just as Greg was heading out.

Realy short sail, rigged the 7.0 2020 Kar, session started with a bit of very light wind sailing 100m offshore, wind booted in at a good 18knts when I was on shore, hoped on the board and off I went, sail felt bloody awesome board straight up on the fin, 600m out about to send it downwind then CRACK, boom started to crack right next to the mast, dropped into the water pronto, boom hanging on by a couple threads flipped the sail and real tentativly sailed back to shore, session over and dusted. Casualty one severne carbon boom for the dust heap. Saying that was super impressed with the 7.0 KAR felt sweet on take of same as the 6.3 board up and flying on the fin, just lucky the boom gave way when it did as most of my first runs are 3-4k's out to sea.

Fun little fang around at Dutchies in the late arvo.

Got down there just after 4 and it looked pretty marginal for the windsurf gear, and I almost opted for a foil, but new board froth prevailed and I pulled out the Windtech 64 for my second sesh, with the 7.6 TR9 + 33 Tribal WS.

A year ago I wouldn't have got going in those conditions on that kit, but I've dropped 8kegs since last season and it makes a world of difference Cool

I was planing most of the sesh, until it started to swing South and get fluffy around 5:30, albeit not very powered up.

Still had a great sail, adjusted the tail plate to provide some flex, and really enjoyed dialling in the new sled in the Dutchies chop.

I would've kept going, but the breeze backed off and it was getting a bit light, and Scott told me there was a Noah lurking out the back, so I called it.

Nice way to cool off after another hot weekend.

WindTech SB 72 with 8.7 KA sail & 33cm Tribal Speed Weed fin. Nice session out but way too many powerboats around for my liking. Good to clear the cobwebs before another working week.

Not much wind, rigged 7.5 Turbo, 125 Rocket, 40 pointer.

Then wind picked up a lot, knew 7.5m was not on, so startd to rig 5.8m when wind dropped, so went out on the 7.5m which was great.

Ratz, if something can be broken I usually find a way, haven't had a good look at the boom but about 10mm in from the clamp it just gave way just a few strands on the bottom holding it together. So far in three years 2 carbon masts, 3 boards delam, 1 tiga 260 snapped/floppy, on my 5th 6.3 sail, 2 ali booms and now 1 carbon boom to the tallySurprised

Glad you made it back safe, Boz. I'd be interested to see where the break was. Have you got any pics you can post? Was it underneath the head? I'd always thought it was a bit dodgy the way the severne heads wear down the carbon underneath the head assembly.

Surprised must be a quality control issue. One too many crashes?
