sboardcrazy (24418km): 5-10kts SSW for half an hr then a fun 12-14kts SSW-S for an hr or so Valentine, NSW, AU 7.5m GTTurbo - RS4 ( 111ltres) - 39cm C3 sting pointer The first half hour was just slogging and trying to get upwind but then it came in a consistent 12-14kts which is perfect for that kit. The lake stayed pretty flat too. Bit of a milestone with my gybing today. I used to gybe the big kit in the lulls .When I did try some more powered up I'd often kill the entry speed by pulling back on the sail. I finally allowed myself to be pulled forward by the sail and it was heaps better! I muffed a few forgetting to look at the exit or standing up on the rig flip but then it started to come together and I got some pretty good ones. I got one nice planing one. I'm starting to look forward to a gust to go for it.. I was entering much faster and more powered up.. Not sure if I'll be able to keep it together on smaller gear in stronger winds and bigger chop but it's a good start and I'm very happy.. I've had issues with my new harness not being tight enough and riding up and digging into my rib cage. I finally made peace with it today and love it! Instead of putting it around my stomach I lowered it to my hips.Much better! However if I lose any more weight the leg straps will be too big.. Only me and a few yachts. |
