After work foil. Got down to see Scott on the formula gear. Wind had dropped to almost nothing so rigged a big sail and big stab. Got out and wind started to pick up again. Struggling to keep the board in the water it gusted up to 20 knots so had no choice but to sail upwind/downwind.
The downwind leg started from dalkeith foreshore and went deep off the wind when I noticed the red marker and I was on the wrong side of it! Took a tight right turn and went around the marker. Looking at the tracks I was lucky not to hit the limestone rocks. I have hit the rocks near Cocos a bit further along the Nedlands Shore and destroyed my board and carbon fin a few years ago. Would have been even more disasterous on the foil in the fading light.
