Coodanup, WA, AU

5.6m 91sl 27wsp

Hit chookers before work, tide and surge was mega but was hopeful for a few bits of grass left make some flat patches.

Started on the 47 with 23 sym speed. First run set a PB for a catapault! full noise (43.6kts) and a log appears in front of me... a moment later I'm spinning out and launching sideways over the log, landed into rail grab and... that oh sh!t moment hits and over the bars we are going. fortunately aside from an autochiropractic event the only other casualty was my harness. Sailed back to the track and decided it wasn't ideal trying to use a speed board in the chop that was there, and it didn't look like improving so I grabbed the slalom board for the rest of the session.

Awesome fun. Great to see the guys having a red hot go and not backing off when it got windy. Thats what it takes to extend the comfort zone.

EDIT: there ya go strop... must have had wheels eh?

haha cheers guys. Thinking about it my gut said "its not going to be speed board flat, so just use the slalom board- you'll probably bounce and spin out in the chop with the speed board" But I didn't want to miss out for the unlikely chance it was really flat, so put the speed board on... Good lesson to be conservative sometimes. Bigger board handles bigger fin which handles bigger chop. Simple...
