Mackay, QLD, AU

Nice Sunday morning sail on the last of the tide and first of the wind. Hovering around 15kNts. Water was crystal clear, making sandbank crossings nerve wracking until I jumped off and realised it was still thigh deep. 7.5 Ezzy. WT72, 46cm Tribal. Should have gone the 8.5m.

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU  Unusual interesting mid arvo fun little light wind solo sesh!

Well the mud pit has it all!! - White pointers yesterday... Today a 3m+ shark with a huge fin!!! (biggest I've seen in the wild)... Passed the monster with about 20m between us which was way too close for my liking, about 1km offshore, as I dredged out on the first run trying to frantically find the wind line which seemed to be an eternity away at this point...  Once I decided there should be a big enough distance between us (my estimate being about another 2km) I then tacked and started the dredge back staying higher upwind, hoping for a gust to get up on the plane, only to again pass the huge fin in the water...  The monster then turned around about 200m behind me and started to follow slowly gaining distance for the next 500m or so...  At this point I felt my heart rate may have been slightly elevated... Surprised  Thankfully then I managed to pump up onto the plane off a bit of swell and a little gust making my way back to shore (may have pee'd a little bit along the way to mark my territory) where I decided to take a break underneath the shade of a palm tree for a little while until I was confident enough there would be enough wind onshore to be up & planing...

After about 20mins or so, the wind gods delivered with 12~14kn ESE steadier wind coming through, so out I went again enjoying some nice runs back and forth without a care in the world! Tongue out

Used the Jag 125, Severne 8.6 M2, Venom 48
