The 4th day in a row of good Easterly wind! Tide window a bit better today so got out in the main channel and managed to do a few Gybes for achange.
Wind around 18-22 knots with a few holes so 6.3m was spot on.
I wanted to try out Martins prototype Weapon with the smaller rake (30 degrees?) This was a perfect oppurtunity and it performed extremely well. Just like it's upright stablemate, it holds on tenaciously and goes very well indeed. This one is 28cm and Kato has the 30cm version and it will be good to compare them to see if the slightly deeper one is better with the 6.3m/IS87 combo or not. I feel it may be, but I was very impressed with this one. It will almost certainly be THE fin for my 5.7m/IS80 combo where there is a bit'a weed around but not enough to need the Weed Weapon's higher rake angle.
I learn't something about the 6.3m KA Race today as well. I am motivated now to make up some different battens now to see how it changes the tune and balance. It might come to nothing but this is what makes my juices flow.
Back to watching the forecasts and plotting when to return to Lake George.
