After 7 days of howling Easterlies, and 24 hours of rain, the wind (and rain) went SW this afternoon.
I was not very inviting in the rain and overcast, with not another soul around anywhere, but it looked to be around 25 knots so I thought it should be nice on the IS80 Slalom and 5.7m. I was wrong! It was more like 25 with prolonged 30+ gusts! It was a bit harrowing at first and the course was farr too tight to let the board runn at the best angle, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well I could hang on to the 5.7m in the big gusts. If I had been able to sfaely bear away another 10 degrees, I recon 40 would have been on the cards, but really happy with a 37 knot 2 sec at 115 off the wind.
5 rund did me in though and the tide was rushing in so short and..... well, OK really!
