el Bog, grew to 15 ssw.

Surprisingly good day for Autumn, sunny and breezy. Lots out enjoying it - including the Captain, Jon, Phil, Adam, Leon and ChrisD. A few kiters and foilers rounded it out.

Rode my 7.0m on the iSonic with the sabre 35, but wasnt quite enough, and a bit of slipping out on the homeward run.

So swapped to more upright BPR 37.5 and that pulled it all together just as the wind picked up for a last hurrah.

Not cranking, but very satisfying crusing with the lads of the lake.

Boggy Lake, SA, AU - another 12 toi 15 knot day - always happy to get a ride in the Autumn douldrums.

Arrived just after lunch to a decent breeze and turnout including some fisherman parked right in the way and taking up the whole launch spot.  The wind increased and they left.

With a decent breeze early and a building forecast i rigged the 7m.  Hit the water and it was nicely powered and felt great.  3rd run in when bearing off i heard and almighty crack and luckily heading back to shore i sailed it back.  Unfortunately on inspection i had a broken batten again - 3rd one up this time - DAMN!

Looking on the positive side i thought it must have been an omen to used the 7.7.  Rigged up and headed back out and 2nd run in the cams looked like they wont changing direction.  Back to shore again and found the batten had snapped away from the cam - double DAMN!

At this stage 2 options - go out with 6.3 or go home.  I chose to rig the 6.3 and had a nice cruise just over 40 k's.  You wouldn't believe it - i didn't break another batten but did hit 3 carp - luckily none big enough to cause any issues.

Glad i persisted and was a nice cruise on the 6.3 and surpised i was planning in not alot of wind.

Patrik 115 / 2020 7.7m / 7m and 6.3 ka race / Black project R375 fin. BOARDIES Smile.
